Groupe Robin Invests in the Expansion of Its Saint-Hyacinthe Hotel

Groupe Robin Invests in the Expansion of Its Saint-Hyacinthe Hotel with the Addition of 40 Rooms Under the Candlewood Suites Brand

Saint-Hyacinthe, September 15, 2026 Groupe Robin today announced a major expansion project for its Holiday Inn Express hotel in Saint-Hyacinthe, marking the introduction of a new lodging option in the area. Beginning in August 2026, construction will get underway to transform the property into a dual-brand hotel combining Holiday Inn Express & Suites® and Candlewood Suites®, with completion scheduled for 2027.

The expansion will add 40 rooms, introducing a new offering under the Candlewood Suites® brand, known for extended stays. The new accommodations will include studios and suites designed as true mini-apartments, all featuring fully equipped kitchens and dedicated workspaces. Suites will also include a separate enclosed bedroom. Guests will also have access to the Candlewood Lounge and a self-service laundry facility.

This new chapter in Saint-Hyacinthe builds on Groupe Robin’s continued hotel development across Quebec and reflects the strength of the partnerships supporting its growth. An IHG® partner since 2009, Groupe Robin is continuing a long-standing relationship that has led to the development of seven IHG®-branded hotels in Quebec. This growth is also supported by close collaboration with municipal stakeholders in the communities where Groupe Robin chooses to invest. The recent opening of the dual-brand Holiday Inn Express & Suites® and Candlewood Suites® complex in Granby is a strong example, and Groupe Robin wishes to recognize the City of Granby’s contribution to bringing the project to life. These partnerships help make significant projects possible—projects that are rooted in their communities and tailored to their specific needs.

Owned by Groupe Robin, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites® Saint-Hyacinthe has distinguished itself for several years as one of the top-performing hotels in Canada, thanks in particular to the quality of its customer service and rigorous operational standards. This evolution will further enhance the guest experience by combining the efficiency of Holiday Inn Express & Suites® with a new extended-stay offering under the Candlewood Suites® brand.

A Modernized and Enhanced Hotel

In addition to the expansion, the existing property’s lobby and reception area will be refreshed to provide a contemporary, welcoming environment aligned with the latest Holiday Inn Express & Suites® brand standards.

In keeping with its values, Groupe Robin is pursuing LEED® certification for the project, incorporating environmentally responsible practices into both the design and operation of the property.

“This project represents an important milestone in the development of our hotel portfolio. It allows us to strengthen our presence in Saint-Hyacinthe, a community that is home to our head office and where we are deeply rooted, actively involved and proud to develop meaningful projects, while introducing a new lodging option that reflects evolving market needs. Beyond the expansion itself, this project represents a tangible enhancement to the guest experience for our region and our valued guests.”

“Groupe Robin has been a trusted IHG partner since 2009, and we are very proud of everything we have accomplished together over the years. Together with Groupe Robin, we relaunched the Candlewood Suites brand in Quebec in Trois-Rivières and continued its growth with the recent opening of a second dual-brand property in Granby. We are therefore very excited to continue this momentum in Saint-Hyacinthe, where our business relationship with Groupe Robin first began. This new project reflects the strength of our partnership and our shared commitment to continuing to evolve the hotel offering in Quebec.”

“I am very pleased to see Groupe Robin continuing to invest in Saint-Hyacinthe with this expansion project. The addition of new rooms will enhance our accommodation offering and strengthen our capacity to welcome guests. This project also reflects the vitality of our community and contributes to Saint-Hyacinthe’s economic and tourism development.”

“The addition of this new lodging option is excellent news for Saint-Hyacinthe. By increasing the destination’s accommodation capacity and addressing a very real need for extended stays, this project will directly support the growth of business tourism and further strengthen our region’s appeal.”
