Decathlon at District 55: construction works are underway!
Today, March 20th, marks the beginning of construction for the 7th Decathlon store in Quebec and the very first one in Mauricie. This new store will allow District 55 to offer residents and visitors an unparalleled shopping experience.
Following the announcement made last September, the beggining of the construction marks the start of a new commercial era for the region. Nellie Robin, President of Groupe Robin, expressed excitement about this collaboration: “We are thrilled to begin construction on Decathlon within District 55. Collaborating with this international brand demonstrates our commitment in enriching the regional commercial offer with a complementary offering, as well as contributing to the promotion of Trois-Rivières.”
Maryse Bellemare, municipal councillor for the Chavigny district, also welcomed this new addition to the commercial offer, stating: “Groupe Robin continues its momentum with a new brand that will occupy a significant area in District 55. We welcome Decathlon to the City of Trois-Rivières. Thank you for choosing us!”
The 30,000 square foot store will open its doors in spring 2025, offering a full range of sports and outdoor products. Strategically located on the edge of Highway 55, near the Tanguay store and the Videotron Coliseum, this new business will benefit from an exceptional showcase in Trois-Rivières.
Tim Rodriguez, Grand Quebec Leader at Decathlon, expressed his joy at opening a new store in such a dynamic environment as District 55: “The Mauricie region offers privileged access to nature, it’s a fantastic playground! Building on our already established relationship with the sports community through our Quebec store, we are excited to contribute, alongside other local actors, to making sports more accessible to all residents of Trois-Rivières and its surroundings.”
